Each Muay Thai class emphasizes core strength, agility, footwork, and endurance. These are the basics of Muay Thai training.

The Muay Thai program offered at Universal Self Protection (USP) is certified through the Office Board of Boxing Sport and the Sports Authority of Thailand Ministry of Tourism & Sport. We are proud to be amongst a handful of schools in North America who are certified to teach traditional Muay Thai outside of Thailand. Operating classes injunction with the Sports Authority of Thailand, USP offers traditional Muay Thai classes that respect the history, culture and technical skill of the Thai national sport.

USP is also partnered with SiamNo1, the FIRST Muay Thai school in Ontario and is lead by Ajahn Suchart (Canada's most highly regarded Muay Thai instructor/Coach) who has trained multiple world champion Muay Thai fighters.

Since Muay Thai is a competitive sport, physical fitness is a major pillar in the program. Each class begins with a 30-minute workout followed by class content which includes, but is not limited to: traditional footwork, movements, striking techniques, heavy bag drills, pad work, sparring and more. By including Muay Thai into your regular training regiment, you will find a drastic improvement to your physical conditioning, strength and fight IQ.
